I understand that the airline industry is under enormous economic pressure. It also makes sense to charge extra for many things: picking seats, alcoholic beverages, even soft drinks: I can accept that, as long as communication is clear and costs are not hidden.
But not offering free plain water, especially on long-distance flights is bordering on bodily injury. Interestingly, they offer free coffee and tea. (OK, they provided one drink with the meal for free, but that was it).
Especially on long flights, dehydration is a health risk. Sure, whoever can affort a plane trip can also affort water. Yet, this policy leaves a dry aftertaste.
