Destinations

Fog flowing down the hills in San Francisco Preperations

Planning a trip like this isn't easy, and my adventure started well before departure. Getting this site up and running - The right camera for the trip - Singapore - Madras was a bitch! - Trouble with UPS
Traditional dress in Kamakura Japan

From Tokyo to Kyoto, I was surprised how similar some aspects of this country are to Germany, if you look at the details. Concentrated Japanese culture in Shinjuku - Where do drunken salarymen sleep? - Encounters with the Japanese - Competition for Burning Man
View from Victoria Peak at night Hong Kong

Shopping and Business were dominating in Hong Kong. Still, on the little islands around you can find charming Chinese culture. Shopper's paradise (but who can carry that much...?)
Ajan Poh, the abt of the monestry where I participated in a meditation retreat Thailand

Buddhism in its purest form is what I took from Thailand. But the temples and beaches are as amazing. Fighting traffic and smog in Bangkok - Moore's Law - The chanting monk and the wooden pillow - Breakfast with Ajan Poh
Dragon waiting to be used in a street festival Malaysia

I just made a quick stopover, but Malaysia left the pleasing impression of a wealthy country where you can relax and take it easy. Taking it easy on Penang
Details of a Chinese temple Singapore

You barely notice that you are in a totalitarian government, as you enjoy the great food, the cleanliness of the place, and the business of a big metropole. Sunday morning birdsinging
A holy elephant in front of a temple India

It takes a lot of energy to absorb all that poverty and dirt, but there's also hope and spirituality. It's a country full of contrasts. Getting used to India - A golden calb - A city without a soul - Watching the world slowly pass by... - Last stop in Asia
Taking off again... Afterthoughts

The journey is over. It was a great trip, but it takes a while to process all the impressions and events. Thank you for listening - Communication while on the road
